The Newman Association Speaker Series
In
the spirit of John Henry Newman's seminal work,
The Idea of a University, the Newman
Association Speaker Series offers to the Clarion
University community lecture and seminar experiences
which seek to integrate current topics of discussion
and debate with contemporary insights from the fields
of philosophy and theology. Newman was a convert
to Catholicism and a Cardinal of the church. In
keeping with his desire to seek insights about contemporary
life from diverse and inclusive academic disciplines,
the aim of this series is to seek knowledge in an
academically ecumenical atmosphere of discussion.
