Retreats
Catholic Campus Ministry sponsors three retreat experiences in the course of each academic year:
Awakening Retreat. This beginners retreat is being offered for the first time this year in conjunction with the other colleges and universities in the Diocese of Erie. This retreat is designed for college students who would like to begin to deepen their relationship with God or who have been away from the Church for some time and would like to strengthen their ties to the life of faith. This overnight retreat is offered twice, November 8-9 and again March 21-22 at locations to be announced. Space is limited, so be sure to contact the Campus Ministry Office if you are interested or have any questions.
Newman Retreat. This annual winter retreat is offered to members of the Newman Association who have participated regularly in the educational and spiritual dimensions of the association. The retreat is scheduled for Friday, January 31 through Sunday, February 2 at Cook Riverside Cabins in the heart of Cook Forest. The retreat includes private and communal prayer, outdoor winter activities, socialization, and Sunday Mass. Students wishing to participate in this retreat are asked to commit to the entire weekend experience. Contact the Newman President if you would like to attend.
Silent Directed Retreat. Students with past retreat experience have the opportunity to participate in the annual silent directed retreat organized by the colleges and universities of the Diocese of Erie. Students who participate meet daily with a retreat director who assists the student in the formal discernment of issues and movements in their lives. The retreat is scheduled for January 5-9 at the Villa Maria Retreat Center in Villa Maria, Pennsylvania. Interested students should contact the Campus Minster for an application form.
Students and University Staff may be aware of other retreat opportunities. Please contact the Campus Minister with any suggestions you might have or experiences which are of interest to you.
